SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Tuesday said that there is no forecast for any major rainfall or snowfall for the next two weeks in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
“Weather will be dry and mainly clear in both J&K and Ladakh till October 17. There is no forecast of any major rain/snow for the next two weeks,” a Meteorological Department official said.
Srinagar received 3.8 mm of rain in 24 hours till 0830 hours while minimum temperature settled at 10.2°C against a normal of 7.3°C in the summer capital of J&K, the official said.
Qazigund received 8 mm of rain and recorded minimum of 9.8°C, the official said.
Pahalgam received 0.6 mm of rain during the time even as the famous resort in south Kashmir recorded a low of 3.8°C, he said.
Kokernag in south Kashmir received 4.8 mm of rain and recorded a minimum of 6.2°C, the official said.
Kupwara received 6.8 mm of rain while the north Kashmir district recorded a low 6.8°C on the Monday night, the official said.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir also received 4 mm of rain and recorded a minimum of 1.5°C, 3.2 degrees below the normal, the official said. Drass area of Ladakh was the coldest place in the union territory, recording a low of -2.3°C.
