BARAMULLA — A civilian was shot in his leg by the army in Azad Ganj area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Local sources said that one Mohsin Solih, a resident of Iqbal Colony Baramulla and an auto-rickshaw driver by profession, entered into a brawl with an army trooper over some issue. In the meantime, they heard a gun shot following which the civilian was seen lying on the road with a bullet injury in leg.
SSP Baramulla Rayees Muhammad Bhat told KNT that the civilian has sustained bullet injury after there was reportedly a rifle-snatching attempt. “We are ascertaining the facts. The civilian is stable,” he said.
The youth has been shifted to a Srinagar hospital.
