SRINAGAR — A ‘crucial’ meeting of the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) has started at the former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti’s Gupkar residence.
The meeting began at 5:10 p.m. in which PAGD President and National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah, Muhammad Yusuf Tarigami, Hassnain Masoodi, Javid Mustafa Mir, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah and Mehboob Beg are present.
The meeting has its significance as it has been called after a six-month-long period amid speculations over further bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was going on when this report was last filed.
Pertinently, the PAGD, a conglomerate of many political parties was formed in J&K to fight for the restoration of Article 370 and statehood, and undo the bifurcation of the erstwhile state.
Interestingly, the conglomerate has remained largely silent since its spokesman, Sajad Lone, parted ways with it.
