GANDERBAL — After a fresh death of a woman due to COVID-19, the local administration has declared Wusan village of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district as red zone.
The administration has also advised the family members of the deceased woman to self-isolate themselves. Also, the medical team has been asked to collect samples of the villagers who came in contact with the woman.
Official sources said that the 55-year-old woman (name withheld), wife of Bashir Ahmed Shah, who was COVID-19 positive died on the intervening night of May 10 and 11 at District Hospital Ganderbal.
The body was buried following all COVID-19 related SOPs at Wusan village.
The officials said that the fencing was done on the borders of the village and sanitation drive will be carried out as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the deadly virus. The police have also warned people to adhere to the lockdown rules. (KNT)
