The fourth phase of maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections that began on Monday morning recorded a voter percentage of 8.16% across different constituencies spread over all but one (Srinagar) districts of Jammu and Kashmir till 9 am.
According to the figures provided by the office of State Election Commissioner, in Kashmir Division, up to 9 am, Kupwara has recorded a voting percentage of 5.14%, Bandipora 7.56%, Baramulla 7.17%, Ganderbal 3.77%, Budgam 6.56%, Pulwama 1.39%, Shopian 0.57%, Kulgam 0.57% and Anantnag 2.77%.
In Jammu division, Kishtwar has recorded a voting percentage of 13.05%, Doda 12.99%, Ramban 9.92%, Reasi 7.99%, Kathua 14.55%, Samba 16.30%, Jammu 14.25%, Udhampur 3.30%, Rajouri 13.63% and Poonch 13.74% up to 9 am.
Kashmir division recorded a polling percentage of 4.21% and Jammu division has 12.29% voter turnout. Overall, 8.16% of voters have cast their votes up to 9 am.
Polling is being held from 7 am to 2 pm.
Out of the total 280 constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir (14 in each of the 20 districts), 34 are going to polls in the third phase – 17 each in Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
