Mumbai: Reacting to the recent remarks by former Chief Minister and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on the restoration of Article 370, Senior Shiv Sena spokesperson and Member of Parliament, Sanjay Raut, on Saturday said anyone who talks about taking China’s help should be jailed in Andaman for 10 years.
“Be it Farooq Abdullah or Mehbooba Mufti, if someone talks about taking China’s help to challenge India’s constitution, then they should be arrested and sent to Andaman for 10 years,” Raut told ANI.
He also said that he is surprised to know that those who are seeking help from China are still roaming free. “How are they roaming free,” asked Raut.
Raut had slammed Farooq Abdullah for his demand to restore Article 370 earlier as well. He appealed to the Central government that if anyone is prevented from hoisting the tricolour, it should be considered treason.
“If Mehbooba Mufti, Farooq Abdullah and others want to implement Article 370 in Kashmir with the help of China, then the Central government will have to take tough steps. If any person trying to hoist the tricolour in Kashmir is stopped, I will see it as treason,” he said
Mehbooba Mufti recently said that the until the decisions taken by the Government of India on August 5 last year are reversed, she will not hold the Indian national flag, and the erstwhile state flag will the only flag acceptable to her.
Farooq Abdullah had earlier told India Today TV in an interview that he held the Centre’s decision to abrogate Article 370 responsible for the Chinese aggression on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.
“Whatever they (China) are doing at LAC in Ladakh, [it is] all because of the abrogation of Article 370, which they never accepted. I am hopeful that with their support, Article 370 will be restored in J&K,” Farooq Abdullah said.
