Srinagar: A gunfight has started between militants and government forces in Dana Behak, Warnow area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to reports reaching Global News Service, a joint team of Police, Army’s RR 28 and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Dana Behak forests.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the team, triggering off an encounter.
A senior police officer confirmed the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants. As per sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped. GNS
