Poonch: At least six persons are trapped in two different rivers in Poonch amid the sudden increase in water level following non-stop rains in the region.
Officials said on Thursday that four persons are trapped in the river near Salotri BSF check post in Jhulass village. They have been identified as Mohammad Liaqat (26) son of Mohammad Latif, Mohammad Sadiq (27) son of Abdul Majid, Qamardin (33) and Mohammad Ashraf (25) son of Mohammaddin.
Another two persons are trapped in Khanter River and rescue operation has been launched by SDRF, locals and civil administration, officials said.
SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral told Global News Service that efforts are underway to rescue all the six persons. “More reinforcements have been rushed to the areas,” he added. GNS
