Srinagar: After the operation was suspended due to darkness last night, firing resumed on Tuesday morning at the encounter site in Kreeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A senior police officer told Global News Service that as the first ray of light striked this morning, the forces resumed the operation. Heavy exchange of firing is going on right now, he said.
Pertinently, yesterday 6 were killed including 2 CRPF troopers, 1 J&K Police cop, 1 Army solidier and 2 local LeT militants in the gunfight.
Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh, yesterday said that top LeT commander Sajad Haider from Sopore was among the two slain militants who, as per DGP, was instrumental in recruiting new militants and was mastermind behind many attacks on security forces and political activists.
