Baramulla gunfight: 3rd militant killed in fresh firing, soldier critically injured

Baramulla: Fresh firing started at Kreeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district in which third militant was killed while as a soldier was critically wounded.

Officials told Kashmir News Observer that after extensive searches, fresh firing started in the orchards of Kreeri, Watergam area of Baramulla after security forces spotted third militant.

“After intense exchange of firing, he too was killed, taking the number of militants slain in the operation so far to three. A soldier too sustained serious bullet wounds and he was referred to 92-base hospital Srinagar where his condition is stated as critical,” the officials said.

Earlier, two militants were killed in the operation that was launched after the forces launched a massive cordon and search operation minutes after the killing of three security forces personnel — two CRPF men and a special police officer (SPO). KNO
